The question I am most likely to be asked in the near future is ”Why have you chosen to do this?”
The answer is very simple.
The NHS fee is so small that it makes it very difficult to provide the same level of care for an NHS patient that we would provide for a Private patient, so it leaves us in a position to decide whether we offer a lesser standard of care to people that have been loyal to us for years or to make a change in order to keep everyone on a level playing field and keep providing the high standards that we want to provide to you.
By charging everyone the same fee we can keep giving everyone time. We can keep the 45 minute appointments or even give longer ones if needed. We can provide a standardised and very high level of test to everybody.
The Membership Plan is something I have put in place that I really hope people will take advantage of. I have spent a lot of time looking at plans offered by other Practices and companies and I have tried to come up with something that will benefit everyone. You as a patient will get more out of it than you put in and we as a practice will get a steady income stream, hopefully, that will make not only continuing but possibly even growing as a business a very real possibility. I’m not a massively ambitious man, I only really want to stay operational and look after you all, but it would be nice to take more than one or two holidays a year without the fear of it all falling down! It also helps to solve the problem of how we continue to look after kids that come to us by giving you an affordable way to tag them onto your Membership.

I hope this is met in the spirit it is intended. I’m not looking to rip people off or make it unaffordable for people to keep coming to us for your eyecare. I just want to keep looking after you all and carry on offering proper eyecare to existing patients and new ones.
